VRMS’ founders developed the grocery industry’s first POS electronic marketing program in 1985 (Reward America at Citicorp POS), incorporated the company in 1991, and launched MarketEXPERT in 1992.

Since then, VRMS has continuously refined and enhanced MarketEXPERT, added support for additional hardware and operating system platforms, and created additional software products and professional services in response to users’ needs to understand consumer behavior and manage customer-centric marketing programs. TargetEXPERT was introduced in 1997 to support the demand for electronic real-time targeting, as well as the execution and administration of points programs. TargetEXPERT communicates in real-time with remote devices such as POS, self-service terminals, gas pumps, IVR, Web sites, e-mail, cell phones, and so forth.
